Songwriter, Musician, Entertainer, Poet, Historian, Radio Host and a Tent-show "Man of the Cloth" with a career in show business lasting over 50 years.  He is one of Wisconsin's most celebrated songwriters.  He founded Lake Superior Big Top Chautauqua in 1986 which remains one of the Midwest's premiere music festivals.  For 23 seasons, through 2008, Nelson was the ringmaster, centerpole, Artistic Director, resident writer and lead dreamer of the Big Top.  He also started and hosted Tent Show Radio for 15 years, a nationally syndicated program.
